the evening of November 24th, 1960, Officer
Hudson was dispatched on a robbery call
and upon his arrival, he encountered three
men armed with guns in the parking lot of the Antioch Shopping Center. He and the other officer
that responded to the scene were caught
in a gun battle with the suspects, and Officer
Hudson was mortally wounded, shot through the heart. Two of the
suspects fled the scene and the third suspect
confessed to officers that caught him a
short time later.
All three suspects, LeRoy Lee Larson, Jack Lynn Hodge and Billy Miles, were convicted of Patrolman Hudson's murder and sentenced to life on February 11, 1961.
Hudson, 22, had been with the Kansas City Police
Department for four months and had served
for three years in the United States Air
Force. He was survived by his wife, Joyce Hudson and was the son of Frank and Edna Hudson.
Interred: Stockton Cemetery, Cedar County, Missouri.
